Snow and Changes

It snowed this week! Unfortunately it all melted and was gone by the time we finished our studies and went out to work for the day, but just seeing the snow falling outside brought back memories of Christmas and home and just made me feel really cozy and warm for a bit, which was nice.

Went outside to our patio one morning to see what my companion was doing, and I saw fire. In his own words he said "I found this old glove in the house without a match so I'm burning it." Okay.

Tip from the week: Don't grab pieces of cactus that are on the ground, even if they look like they don't have spines in them, because they do.

Last week the people who wanted to get baptized on Saturday moved the baptism to this weekend, which is kind of a bummer, since I won't be here. Bringing me to my next point: we received transfers and I'm going to catch a bus at 6 tomorrow morning to head to Juarez, where I am going to be serving in the east side of the city in an area called Zaragoza, finishing the training of a new Elder who I know nothing about, except that his last name is Sanchez. I'm hoping that this transfer will be a good and exciting change. I really am going to miss this area, especially since I just barely got to the point where I felt comfortable and like I knew how to work effectively here, and now I'm leaving haha.

One of the biggest bummers about this transfer is that I'm not going to be here to be able to see 8 people who we are working with get baptized. This area hasn't had someone get baptized since last summer, and we've been working really hard here and have people who have progressed a ton, but they are all going to get baptized next cycle, meaning I won't be able to be there with them. Kinda feels like I did all the planning and preparation for 8 birthday parties but won't be there to actually see the birthday party take place, but oh well. I have faith that everything will work out for the best.

This week, I was pretty tired in general, and just kinda tired of being tired if that makes sense. Had some great, happy days too, but I'm hoping that in my new area I'll be able to grow a lot more in that regard. Missions are hard, but I can see how much it has blessed the lives of those whom we are serving and teaching right now, and just how much personal growth I have had too.

Had some crazy wind storms this week too, and my comp burned a pair of his pants for reaching 18 months on the mission. Also had some good food, saw a new mural that's being painted on a member's tortilla shop, and the Hernandez Murillo family made us a cake.

Love you guys! Keep doing good things and trying hard and making yourselves happy!
