High from the Spirit, not Cocaine

Whaddup everybody

This week was great! The companion is feeling a lot better and is a lot more cheerful and happier than he has been all cycle, and we have been having some crazy success and have been lucky to be able to teach some people who are progressing a ton. Don't know if there's a correlation in there somewhere, but who knows.

Walked past a car that was parked on the side of the road, and saw the dude in the drivers seat snorting cocaine. That was an interesting sight, but not very safe.

We had 6 investigators come to church with us again this week, and it was great! We are planning to have 2 baptisms for one family who we are teaching, the Rios Mercado family, this Saturday. The husband spent 4 years in jail and really wants to get active again in the church, and we have been teaching his new wife and her kids, who all love coming to church. The wife has had a rough life too, with three people forcing an abortion on her which she didn't want, and she has had anxiety her whole life and been wanting to know what happened to her son, and it was a really special experience this week to be able to tell her that she will be able to see her son again after this life. She really liked that.

We also met a new investigator this week named Froylan, who is 23 and is studying to be a lawyer. One of his lady friends invited him to church, and we invited her to come to a lesson with us, but they declined saying that he wanted to join the church because he believed it was true, not because of any person in particular. He asked a bunch of questions about all the hard stuff that we usually dread teaching investigators, but he said that he doesn't have a problem with any of those things, and after the first lesson he asked when he could get baptized. After the first lesson, we gave him a Book of Mormon, and he said a prayer asking Heavenly Father to show him that it were true, and he opened it up to Alma 39, and just felt that the scriptures were talking directly to him. He read the scripture out loud to us, and we all felt the Spirit so strongly that we all wanted to cry.

Still missing some of the things of home, like spending time with family and watching movies, but with so many people that we are helping and with all the investigators who we have been blessed with lately, it has been a lot easier and just kinda felt like I'm cruising through the mission, enjoying it as I go, which I am grateful for, since it hasn't always been like that haha, but that's okay.

Keep moving forward everyone! Add more things to your life that make you happy, and cut more things out that don't.
