In Juarez!
We made it safely to Juárez! We had to get up at like 4 this morning so we´re all really tired. We have just been going through mission instructions and rules pretty much all day, and it feels like the first day of the MTC all over again, with a lot of just waiting around and not really doing anything and being tired, but it's super cool and exciting to be in the city. It's actually a lot nicer than I was expecting. There are lots of the same types of cars and stores that there are in America, although there's still a lot of garbage in the streets and run down buildings in between. We are also in the center of the city so it's probably a lot different in other parts of the city.
I don't think I'll be able to read and respond to emails today, and I'm still not sure what the whole being able to call home will be like either next week, but I guess we'll figure that out next week.
They're putting us in a hotel tonight, and then tomorrow there's zone conference where we'll finally meet our companions and start getting things going. We ate dinner at the President's house tonight, and it was SUPER fancy. There are some really nice neighborhoods in Juárez, although most of them won't be like that. Still surprising though.
Watching conference was really fun and spiritual too, and in between we played Rook as a district. Saying bye to all of them was really hard, because we're all really great friends. Glad some of them are staying here.
Can't wait to actually get out there and start doing stuff, and getting into the routine. I feel like the days won't feel as long when that finally happens haha.
Love you guys, and sorry I can't call this week! I'm taking lots of pictures though and praying for you and hope you're all doing well, and can't wait to talk to you guys again next week!
Love you all,
-Elder Peters
