Rain of Bullets
I honestly can’t even really remember what happened this week. All the days are starting to go by pretty fast and blend together, but not in a bad way. My Spanish, teaching skills, and spiritual sensitivity are improving every day, and it’s great.
This past weekend was Mexican Independence Day, and because of it, there were tons of parties going on around us. They told us at the end of a devotional that they wanted us all back in our homes 15 minutes sooner than normal, because with all the parties and craziness happening, lots of people would be shooting fireworks and guns into the air, and the CCM presidency was concerned the bullets would come down and hit us, so we always had some extra time to kill in our houses at the end of the day, where we would play tell stories and play Rook or other guessing games.
I don’t have many pictures from this week because I didn’t take many. The first one is of my scripture cases and ties that I got at a small souvenir store near the temple, along with some peso bills, because I think they’re kinda cool.
Also a picture of some heavy rain we got. The picture was taken maybe 10 minutes after it started raining. And then just me and my district and some of our shenanigans.
This week we got some of the other guys in the house and told them that there was a rat in a cupboard in our laundry room. E gathered them all together and one of them sat on top of the cupboards and opened it, only to see Elder Walker jump out of the cupboard and scare them.
While sometimes sitting in class for about 12 hours a day can get pretty boring, I’m still loving my experience here. I’ve already learned a lot about myself and spirituality and the importance of the gospel in my life and how it can change the lives of others, and it’s just great. I’ve made so many friends and had so much fun, and if I’ve already had this great of a time in 3 weeks, I can’t wait to see what I learn and experience in the next 101.
¡Hasta la próxima semana!
